Equal distribution isn't needed to feed the world - just sensible distribution is all that is needed.

The problem as always is ideology - much of the world has adopted capitalist ideology. This means there is a strong focus on accumulating and maximising one's wealth, thinking about oneself only and entering into a "survival of the fittest" type mindset/competition where all are pitted against each other.

This prevents any such sensible distribution as governments around the world adopt and promote such ideologies or variants on them.
