Hurumat (Forbidden Acts)

One of the five classifications of actions in Islamic law (the other four are fard/wajib, obligatory; mandoub, recommended; makruh, discouraged; and mubah, permissible). Refers to actions that are prohibited in Islamic law for which there is punishment of undertaken, either in this life or the next.
