The short answer is no.

Human beings engage in pattern recognition as a cognitive process, whereas machines do so through data analysis. AI bots like ChatGPT and Midjourney are programmed to recognize patterns in the information they are given. As a result, any industry that contains data with regularities or definable qualities, such as music, contracts, statistical analysis, bioinformatics, and the arts, is likely to be affected. ChatGPT, for instance, is capable of producing decent poetry.

However, Allah says in the Quran:

"Say, 'if mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to assist one another.'" (17:88)

While AI may be able to generate impressive texts in the future, it will never be able to create a text that can rival the Quran for several reasons. Firstly, AI is completely reliant on the information that is fed to it. ChatGPT, for instance, is based on data from the internet up to the year 2021. On the other hand, the Quran is not based on a text or a series of texts. Instead, it is an original composition that came from one unschooled man.

Secondly, AI is continually programmed, tuned, maintained, and patched by humans. In contrast, the Quran has no back-end, and it has not been tweaked or modified over time.

Thirdly, AI, in its current state, is still prone to errors and contradictions, particularly if tasked with producing something as extensive as the Quran, which comprises over 600 pages. Conversely, the Quran has no errors or contradictions. Furthermore, the information that is fed to AI is subject to change and error.

Lastly, the Quran formed the basis of the grammar of a language (Arabic) spoken by millions of people over many centuries. Moreover, the Quran has been memorized in its entirety by millions of people. It is unlikely that AI will ever be capable of generating a text that can match this description.

It is insufficient to create a verse or text that sounds like the Quran. Such attempts typically use Quranic vocabulary and phraseology. The Quran, however, is unlike any other poetry that existed at the time of its revelation
