There are some limitations in how knowledge is acquired but none that limit a girl's right to education or her right to seek knowledge.

There are also many prophetic sayings encouraging seeking knowledge, which lead many Muslim women in history to become scholars, writers and teachers of both men and women.

Those groups or individuals who seek to limit girl's access to education oppose the Westernisation of education across the Muslim world. Muslims see a divine thread to the world and expect it in the education of their children whereas Western education overtly marginalises it.
