The number of times millat appears in verses in the Qur'an is 13: 3:96 Say, "Allah has spoken the truth: follow, therefore, the millat of Abraham, who was ever inclined to God; and he was not of those who associate gods with God." 16:124  And now We have revealed to you, saying, "Follow the way of Abraham who was ever inclined to God and was not of those who set up equals to Him." 2:136 And they say, "Be ye Jews or Christians that you may be rightly guided." Say: "Nay, follow ye the millat of Abraham who was ever inclined to God; he was not of those who set up gods with God." 6:162  Say, "As for me, my Lord has guided me unto a straight path - a right millat, the millat of Abraham, the upright. And he was not of those who join gods with God." 4:126 And who is better in deen than he who submits himself to Allah, and he is a doer of good, and follows the millat of Abraham, the upright? And Allah took Abraham for a special friend. 12:39  "And I have followed the millat of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. We cannot indeed associate anything as partner with Allah. This is of Allah's grace upon us and upon mankind, but most men are ungrateful. 12:38  He replied, "The food which you are given shall not come to you but I shall inform you of the interpretation thereof before it comes to you. This is on account of what my Lord has taught me. I have renounced the millat of the nation who do not believe in Allah and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 2:131 And who will turn away from the millat of Abraham but he who is foolish of mind? Him did We choose in this world, and in the next he will surely be among the righteous. 22:79  And strive in the cause of Allah as it behoves you to strive for it. He has chosen you, and has laid no hardship upon you in millat; so follow the deen of your father Abraham; He named you Muslims both before and in this Book, so that the Messenger may be a witness over you, and that you may be witnesses over mankind. Therefore observe Prayer and pay the Zakat, and hold fast to Allah. He is your Master. An excellent Master and an excellent Helper! 14:14  And those who disbelieved said to their Messengers, "We will, surely, expel you from our land unless you return to our millat." Then their Lord sent unto them the revelation: "We will, surely, destroy the wrongdoers. 18:21  "For, if they should come to know of you, they would stone you or make you return to their millat and then will you never prosper." 7:89  The chief men of his nation who were arrogant said, "Assuredly, we will drive you out, O Shu'aib, and the believers that are with you, from our town, or you shall have to return to our millat." He said: "Even though we be unwilling? 7:90  "We have indeed been forging a lie against Allah, if we now return to your millat after Allah has saved us therefrom. And it behoves us not to return thereto except that Allah, our Lord, should so will. Our Lord comprehends all things in His knowledge. In Allah have we put our trust. So O our Lord, decide You between us and between our nation with truth, and You are the Best of those who decide."
