Feeling and reasoning are subcategories of thought - thought is the product of thinking.

Thought which produces emotion is termed "feeling". Thought that produces a conclusion is termed "reasoning".

Feeling can lead to reasoning and vice versa, however they remain distinguished by whether they trigger emotions or conclusions.

Sometimes thought produces neither emotion nor conclusion, which is why it is not synonymous with either, but rather the parent of both.
