According to Islamic tradition, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known for his kindness and compassion towards all people, including polytheists, before and after his prophethood. He was known for his good character and moral conduct, and was respected and admired by people of all faiths.  It is reported that even before he received the revelation of the Qur'an and became a prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him) was known for his honesty, integrity, and compassion. He was known as al-Amin, which means "the trustworthy," and was sought after by people to arbitrate disputes and resolve conflicts.  There are many stories and accounts in Islamic tradition that demonstrate the kindness and compassion of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) towards polytheists. For example, it is reported that he once intervened to save the life of a polytheist woman who was being stoned to death by her own tribe for adultery. He also had close relationships with non-Muslim allies and protected their rights and interests, even when it went against the interests of his own community.  Overall, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was known for his kindness and compassion towards all people.
